About Steve Kournianos
Steve Kournianos is the founder and publisher of The
Draft Analyst; a comprehensive, hockey-based information service redesigning the manner in which sport is covered. An experienced journalist with editorial stints at both ESPN and the Associated Press, Steve’s ability to grasp the importance of timeliness helps him oversee a growing day-to-day operation which includes ranking the top draft eligible prospects, game previews, nightly recaps, prospect profiles and mock drafts.
In addition to serving as The Draft Analyst’s Publisher, Steve is also an officer in the United States Army with over 12 years of active duty service, currently holding the rank of Captain. He has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he conducted partnered operations with host-nation security forces.
Prior to joining the military, Steve was a credentialed reporter who wrote National Hockey League game previews for the AP, and served as an ESPN News Services NHL in-game correspondent. His work has appeared on ESPN.com, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, McKeen’s Hockey and Baseball America.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Steve hold’s a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northeastern University, and a master’s degree in Military History from American Military University.
