The Draft Analyst Command Post:Toronto_Maple_Leafs_logo 2015 Mock Draft

Round/PickPlayerSummary
1st/4th overallRW Mitch Marner (London, OHL)Tough call to make between him and Strome, but Leafs overlook Marner’s size disadvantage for his superior vision and explosiveness.
1st Round / 24th overallC Jansen Harkins (Prince George, WHL)Should have a chip on his shoulder if drafted this late. Relentless two-way playmaker with size/skill combo.
3rd Round / 65th overallLHD Caleb Jones (US U18, NTDP)Very steady for Team USA who did an excellent job limiting the high power forwards he was matched up against at the U18’s. Will play for the Portland Winterhawks next season.
4th Round / 95th overallRHD Thomas Schemitsch (Owen Sound, OHL)Strapping puck mover (6’3/200) whose solid season with Owen Sound took a back seat to Chris Bigras’ monster year. Adept and getting puck out of harms way.
4th Round / 107th overallC Brett McKenzie (North Bay, OHL)Underrated two-way power center who embodied North Bay’s commitment to defense. Showed he can make plays despite his limited role. Should be groomed as a 2nd or 3rd line center.
5th Round / 125th overallF Jonne Tammela (Kalpa, FIN)Versatile speedster who can play all three forward positions but better suited for the wing due to his blazing speed and quick release. Leafs will be lucky if he’s even available by the fifth round.
6th Round / 155th overallSamuel Dove-McFalls (Saint John, QMJHL)Scrappy project power forward who is a pain to play against. Can play in any situation and is reliable on important draws. Leafs’ dreadful penalty kill won’t be so dreadful if they can develop players like him.
